Looking to feed the growing appetite for clean and ethical eating in Singapore, Little Farms offers fresh quality produce carefully sourced from trusted farmers and artisans around the world. The store stocks a comprehensive range of fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, seafood, dairy goods, beverages, and pantry staples.

It also offers baked goods, like gluten-free breads, and deli staples, like antipasto, olives, and cured meats.

Most of these are from small producers and brands that are exclusive to Little Farms, and many are certified organic. The store also caters to special dietary requirements such as gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan.

Launched in February 2016, Little Farms is the brainchild of food and grocery business veterans who share a passion for top-rate products, value and service. Chief executive officer Fred Moujalli, for instance, nurtured an extensive network of suppliers in his native Australia via a long career in purchasing and procurement in various gourmet grocery and food services.

This explains the Aussie-driven inventory, with artisanal finds like Bacco’s Bakeries flatbreads, Brookfarm granolas, Wild Foodies ready-to-eat soups, and 99th Monkey nut butters.

“We like to brag that we’ve got the best avocados in Singapore,” says Nick Barnett, the store’s chief marketing officer, “and we bring in our meats fresh – never frozen.”

Being directly involved in the sourcing and importing process, Little Farms is able to ensure quality by working only with trusted partners, while keeping costs and prices low. The speciality grocer also includes insightful write-ups with each of its products, so patrons can read about the artisans who made them; they also include a descriptive paragraph on taste, texture, and cooking suggestions. This personal touch confirms their provenance and helps customers better appreciate the work that goes into making these foods.
