This dining table by Eero Saarinen, also known as the Tulip table, has a simple and elegant silhouette that’s timeless and versatile. It was a hit in 1957 when it was designed by the Finnish-American designer and sculptor, and continues to be coveted today.

The Tulip table is part of Saarinen’s Pedestal collection, in which he replaced “the slum of legs” typically found beneath furniture, with a single sculptural pedestal. The leg is made of cast aluminium painted white or black. It has been paired with everything from vintage wooden chairs to Philippe Starck’s Ghost chairs.

The round, bevelled-edge tabletop comes in a variety of materials such as marble, laminate, and several types of wood. There is also an oval-shaped version of the table, like the one above! To check if your table is authentic, check its underside; original tables come with a nameplate stamped with Saarinen’s signature and the Knoll Studio logo.

The Saarinen Tulip Table is available at Dream. Find out more about the Tulip chair here
