The Milan Design Week only begins officially tomorrow, but the streets of the Zona Tortona design district was already abuzz with journalists, who were given a sneak peek into the myriad of exhibitions that litter the area. Abandoned buildings were transformed into inspiring temporary showrooms, and large warehouses were dressed up to house designs from all over the world. Here are 6 items that we couldn't get enough of!
Arion, from Moooi
This limited edition rocking unicorn put a smile on many visitors, and its oversized proportions made us feel small, and reminded us fondly of being a kid.
Hamon by Kensho Miyoshi
With a spotlight on it and surrounded by water, this elegant clock creates hypnotising ripples and casts shadows around its environment.
Ceramic tableware by Andrew Ludick for Ceadagon
It's not often that we hear about Irish designers, but we're liking this sprightly collection of tableware!
Bird spiral chandelier, from Beau & Bien
The individual birds are made of porcelain and lit up with LED. We love how this piece seems to recreate a time lapse of the bird's flight!
Minimal bathroom collection, by Norm Architects for Ex.t
A beautiful collection that'll fit right into bathrooms with minimal footprint.
