Known for its tongue-in-cheek lifestyle products inspired by everyday items found in Hong Kong, Goods of Desire (G.O.D.) at Central is an invigorating mix of bold colours that straddle kitsch and contemporary. Retro windows and grille gates that line the wall in the homeware area gives us a taste of old Hong Kong.

The store is filled with crockery, pouffes (made to look like Chinese chess pieces), bean bags, dinnerware and bedding. Many items in G.O.D’s homeware collection come in striking prints commonly associated with Chinese culture.

There is also an assortment of gifts, stationery and cheeky fashion items. Merging the old and new, the brand turn traditional items into hip decorative pieces. With such a wide selection of products, you can now quite literally live, eat and sleep with Goods of Desire.

Says Douglas, who is also the brand’s creative director, “I hope Singaporeans will see my interpretation of the buildings as fresh and original, but at the same time, authentic.” Much like how they’ve captured the distinctive essence of Hong Kong, we reckon.
