Inspired by India’s colonial period, the furniture pieces at InRoads will take you back in time. Each piece is distinctive of the 18th century campaign furniture, named for their use in military campaigns by the British army during that time. The collection is from American/French brand Prizmic & Brill and handcrafted in the Philippines. Each piece is built to last and fully handmade with genuine leather, canvas and mahogany wood (which is especially durable).

Although they’re not genuine antiques, just like the real deal, “you will never throw them away because they look better as they age,” quips Andy Tan, who runs the business. From media centres to study desks and beds, most of the pieces in-store can collapse into trunks, which make them easy to move around and put aside when not needed.

If you want to have a hand in creating your own furniture, you’ll be happy to know that each piece can also be completely customised from the size to the colour.

InRoads is at #05-04 Tan Boon Liat Building, 315 Outram Road, tel: 6223-0553.
