Nestled in a charming shophouse in the Mohamed Sultan area, John Erdos Home is a 22-year-old company, well known for its rustic yet refined furniture pieces.

Designed by the brand’s founder, managing director and designer, John Erdos, many of the furniture are made of recycled Indonesian teak. Upholstered pieces, such as sofas and bed frames, are available as well, to balance out the “hardness” of wood.

The top floor of the three-story shop houses furniture pieces from the contemporary Ark Haus brand.

What can you expect when you visit the store? The showroom has a lifestyle concept with many beautifully styled settings, demonstrating the harmonious quality of the furnishings.

“Here, we want to show that wood and contemporary furniture pieces can look good together; everything can be mixed and matched stylishly with no effort,” says John.

New to the store is Ark Haus, a brand launched last November, with local creative director Louis Koay. The furniture line features contemporary designs based on European styles and trends. Think metal, marble and glass, and eye-catching silhouettes.

John Erdos Home also carries a diverse collection of decor accessories and lighting that have been sourced from all over Asia. For the finishing touch to your home, browse affordable modern art (priced from about $1,500 to $8,000) in the form of colourful and abstract paintings. Best-selling items are priced from $300 for a mirror to $2,400 for a bed.
