A black interior scheme is alluring and mysterious and many love it. However, not many are confident in pulling it off, especially in a small home. This interior designer managed to do this in a three-room HDB flat, and the result is a stylish, unique and not-too-dark home!

The entrance features a black glass “doormat” with sandblasted engravings, with a glossy surface that contrasts with the textures of the door and mosaic step.

There is a touch of industrial style in this home, thanks to the concrete-finished wall and exposed suspended lightbulbs. A tree is a focal point in front of the bare wall.

A cherry red Smeg fridge adds a burst of colour to the kitchen, perfectly complementing the black mosaic wall.

The walnut veneer and black metal bedroom doors boast statement-making tree branches for handles.

The Chinoiserie elements in the bedroom, including the fabric for the headboard, are balanced by the vast wardrobe’s sleek, modern glass doors.
