Design Inspiration: Beach Blanket Babylon Shoreditch

Inspiration can be gathered from anywhere, and this week we have a look at one of London’s trendy resto bars.

Located in the artistic East End of London, Beach Blanket Babylon Shoreditch (there’s also another one in posh Notting Hill, by the way) serves modern European cuisine. It also has a great ambience and attracts an eclectic crowd.

Step into the Beach Blanket Babylon along Shoreditch and you'll be struck with a distinct, breathtaking interior. Its interior design would be loosely classified as Roccoco, or decadent Baroque with a modern edge

Owned by London-based entrepreneur Robert Newmark, the Beach Blanket Babylon bar and restaurant has been occupying the same Notting Hill building since 1990.

Replicate Beach Blanket Babylon's Interior Design

A palette of black and gold would give you the glamour for this look. Choose ornamented pieces, like attractive lamps and furniture with intricate details.

Finally, although rich, glitzy and Roccoco, this look is not meant to be polished and perfect. So, give it an edge with “raw” walls and floors.
