You may know Italian brand Bvlgari from its collection of gleaming jewellery and timepieces, but did you know they also have a hospitality wing? Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts have opened a 48-storey, 82-room luxury hotel in Shanghai, and as expected, it is gorgeous. In addition, the brand has also restored the 20th century building of Chamber of Commerce Shanghai (pictured), where the 500sqm, triple-height ceilinged Bulgari ballroom is located.
Bvlgari tasked Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel to design the hotel's interiors. In the next few pictures, you'll see how the firm combined classic Italian interiors with the style of Shanghai.
To create an East-meets-West look, guestrooms are decorated with black lacquer cupboards and Tuscan Calacatta marble tabletops.
The hotel features 19 suites, all of which includes three bedrooms, five bathrooms, three lounges, a 12-seater dining room, spa and treatment room Jacuzzi, gym, kitchen, 24-hour butler service and access to a private Maserati limousine. How luxurious!
