Most clubbers will be familiar with the admission charge they have to foot in order to enter a club. It’s a bit of a downer, but regular clubbers have come to accept it as a customary fee, sort of like a necessary exchange for a fun night out. Bang Bang Nightclub disagrees, however, and with the unveiling of their new look in January, the three-and-a-half-year old club at Pan Pacific Hotel has also dropped their cover charges.

Accompanying this bold move is an equally bold, spruced-up space that is the perfect backdrop for all the Instagram moments revellers desire to capture. The interiors are a real doozy, bathed in groovy shades of magenta and wine, with mirrored ceilings and cool fittings like their new UV-coated diamond dance cages and raised dancefloor.

Bang Bang has also introduced a new co-clubbing movement, where smaller groups of clubbers get to enjoy the VIP table experience by sharing it with a larger combined group – this way you get to revel in exclusive perks such as table hosts and socialise with new people at the same time.

Asked about the revamp, co-founders of SJS Group, who also brought us bars Lulu’s Lounge and Employees Only, Joshua and Sarissa Schwartz said “we believe strongly in reinvesting in the business and that after three years it was a good time for a refresh”. They roped in Bernard Johnson of EDG to spearhead the transformation, who aimed to make Bang Bang a versatile space that welcomes all partygoers.

So for those life-of-the-party types, the neon lights and raised stage will electrify them, but there are also cosy banquette seats for the chill ones who just want to soak in the atmosphere. They’ve taken care of the cover charge, the space, right down to the music – all that’s left to do really is let that hair down and kick the night off with a Bang.
