Every year, movers and shakers in the design industry, as well as design enthusiasts flock to the Salone del Mobile Milano (or Milan Furniture Fair) to showcase new designs, gain inspiration and keep abreast with the latest trends. As the key event in the design calender, the show continually mesmerises with trendsetting furniture, decor and more from noteworthy brands from all over the world — not just at the grounds of the trade fair, but also at its fringe events and exhibitions around the Italian design capital.

These new designs, lauched in Milan, will be making their way into the stores in the months to come. So look out for them, if you want to furnish your spaces with the latest and trendiest pieces.

From the wide range on show, here are some great pieces:

The Leafo chair and Arcolor sofa by Jamie Hayon (top) Domino chairs by Claesson Koivisto Rune, for Arflex. Will be available at Space.

Atelier Swarovski Home's showcase of covetable home accessories that were created in collaboration with famous designers. Objects include multi-functional candle holders and vases by Barbara Barry (top left), and pure crystal paper weights by Studio Brynjar & Veronika (top right).

Bang & Olufsen's Beosound Shape wireless speaker system, based on modular hexagonal forms that can be wall-mounted creatively in different arrangements. Choose from an array of colours and textiles from the brand's colour palette or from a selection available from renowned textile manufacturer Kvadrat.

The Twins range by Expormim has been expanded to include a new outdoor loveseat that is compact but striking in form. Upholstered in a soft and comfortable 3D mesh textile that was specially developed for the brand, it will look beautiful in contemporary interiors, too. Will be available at Dream.

Fans of French high fasion label Hermes will adore its new homeware collection, with pieces finished in the brand's signature leather, maple wood that's lacquered or left natural, and bamboo.

Hugues Chevalier unveils 25 new bespoke pieces, including the Alex armchair (left) and Vendome sideboard, which feature sophisitcated colours and shapes.

Living Divani's Grek Box storage unit (left), designed by Gabriele & Oscar Buratti, can either be floor-standing or wall-mounted, while Era , designed by David Lopez Quincoces, is a family of seven tables of different shapes and sizes. Both sport sleek, refined geometric profiles.

The Lennox two-seater sofa, designed by Gordon Guillaumier, for Lema has an eye-catching design inspired by flower petals, in an equally attractive colour. It's retro-looking, but modern, too. Available at W Atelier.

From Santa & Cole is the new wireless adaptation of the iconic Cestita Bateria table lamp designed by Miguel Mila. Like a contemporary lantern — with a delicate wood frame that supports an opal-shaped glass — it comes in a handy size, and is rechargeable. Will be available at W Atelier.

We gather that an elegant, muted colour palette, as well as soft sculptural and geometric forms will prevail as trends. Bamboo as a material is also being embraced more, for its versatility and eco-friendly properties.
