Potato Head Hong Kong - a trendy, stylish cafe, shop, bar, restaurant and music room
By Home & Decor Team -
You've probably checked out Potato Head Folk, on Keong Saik Road, and noticed its colourful, interesting interiors. And maybe you've also been to the one in Bali, too.
Now, Potato Head Hong Kong is open! The 8,000sqf place is designed by renowned Tokyo-based architect Sou Fujimoto.

Fujimoto explores the concept of inside and outside spaces in one of the most densely populated cities in the world.
For the facade, he makes use of structures inspired by traditional Hong Kong window frames.
Made with steel, the partitions with intricate patterns impressively stand out, and yet doesn't impose itself on the neighbourhood.
Potato Head Hong Kong is a welcoming destination, whether you pop in to grab coffee, shop for artisanal home ware, or enjoy a meal at Kaum restaurant.
The lounge features a mix of customised, Indonesian furniture with Mid-Century Modern classics and antique pieces.
Suspended from the ceiling, over the cosy lounge area, are stainless steel planters that help to create the illusion of a floating forest.
It features over 700 hand-painted panels from Toraja, installed on the ceilings and walls, made by the families of craftsmen.
The panels are composed of paint — black, as well as yellow and orange hues of local stones — and timber that is grown locally in Toraja.
There is also a music room, hidden behind the restaurant. It can also be accessed from the entrance through a hidden corridor, or a secret entrance on High Street.
Potato Head Hong Kong will be opening this June. Check here for updates: www.ptthead.com
