Raffles Hotel reopens after 2-year renovation

Over two years since she closed her grand old doors, Raffles Hotel has finally reopened after extensive restoration and renovation works.

Officially opened today, the 1st of August 2019, visitors to the five-star nineteenth-century Hotel can expect to find not just new looks and spaces, but also recognise old and nostalgic ones. Here's a quick peek.

The Hotel's iconic Jubilee Hall, the site of many plays and concerts, has been transformed into a ballroom.

Now known as the Jubilee Ballroom, the event space is the perfect site for wedding receptions and conferences and is able to seat 320 people.

Bathrooms inside the hotel suites have been redesigned with Victorian details and Peranakan tiles that are a nod to Singapore's rich culture.

There are now 115 suites across nine different categories, including the new Residence suites that are located in Raffles Arcade.

Each Residence suite comes with a living and dining area, a pantry, an intimate office space, powder room and bedroom.

One of the details that the design firm in charge, Champalimaud Design, retained from the original building include these quaint vintage light switches.

The Tiffin Room, another favourite fixture of the Hotel, also makes its return with a new interior decor.

Visitors can expect three new celebrity chef restaurants, including La Dame de Pic by chef Anne-Sophie Pic in the Main Building.

Now known as Raffles Boutique, the old Raffles Gift Shop has been shifted from its old location at the Bras Basah wing to Seah Street.
