Catch From Our Heads and Our Hands: Stories Told with Colour at the Redot Fine Art Gallery, a new exhibition of soft sculptures created by Aboriginal artists from one of Australia’s foremost Aboriginal owned art centres, Yarrenyty Arltere Artists.
The pieces the artists have created centre on the theme of the “animal life” in and around the town-camp situated in Alice Springs, rendering their impressions of birds, owls, dogs and other creatures. Through their works, the artists tell a story about their existence in the delicate eco-system of the central desert, and what they represent for Indigenous people. Catch 23 of these whimsical and enchanting embroidered animals from both established and young artists. Here's a taste.
