The table, designed by the studio and handmade at its Johor Bahru factory, has varying wood tones and gold metal accents. The irregular sizing of each base layer is the perfect balance between simplicity of form and layers of detail that make this hallway console unique and eye-catching.

Design Intervention also took home the prize in the "Kitchen Over £100,000" category. The show-stopping kitchen - it is part of The Modern Chinoiserie House located in the Tanglin area - features a teal-blue leather banquette (pictured).

In the kitchen, copper, polished steel and gold tones are used. A vibrant blue heavily-veined granite is used for the island top to add intricate details to the space. It provides a show-stopping focal point and a visual anchor to the space.

A mosaic backsplash in blush tones accentuates the copper elements and the rose tones in the granite slab.

The International Design & Architecture Awards are hosted by design et al, an interior design magazine in the United Kingdom. Shortlisted entries are put online and voting is open to industry professionals, the magazine's readers, clients and customers.
