10 Best Food Processors in Singapore

As an avid cook, I love my food processor! One of the biggest questions that nine out of 10 people ask themselves is what is a food processor vs. blender, followed by what is a food processor used for? Don’t worry, these two queries are very common. To answer the first, there is a big difference.

A blender is used for more liquid-type results, blending soft ingredients like fruit and yoghurt to create a smoothie. Some blenders can withstand ingredients like nuts, but their primary job is to combine all the ingredients into one. A food processor, on the other hand, is used to process individual ingredients and includes a variety of functions.

What is the best food processor for home use? A food processor typically comes with different blades, including ones for chopping, slicing, dicing, pureeing, and even kneading. For example, thinly slice onions, chop up tomatoes into symmetrical cubes (without making them into mush), or create a perfectly kneaded dough.

Think of a food processor as your best kitchen prep friend. It takes out the elbow grease and mundane tasks usually left to the sous chef, like slicing and dicing.

For those who live in one-bedroom, smaller apartments, I’d recommend looking for a compact-sized food processor. If you have a massive family, with kids and in-laws, purchase a food processor with an extra-large container capacity; I’m talking 2-litres+. Other useful factors to be aware of when buying a food processor are the attachments that it comes with, as well as electricity consumption.

Magimix 3200XL Multifunction Food Processor

Magimix 3200XL Multifunction Food Processor, $799

Feel like a total boss in the kitchen with one (extremely powerful) whizz of the Magimix 3200XL Multifunction Food Processor!

Chefs, like Jamie Oliver, Yotam Ottolenghi, and Nigella Lawson, use the Magimix food processor in their kitchens. Any avid bakers might have seen the Magimix in The Great British Bake Off, too.

Available in three sleek colours, Rouge, Noir and Satin, each choice has a slight shine/gloss to it — tres French, but then again, Magimix was founded in France. This also attests to its quality; I always find that French, Italian, German, and Swiss products are a cut above the rest!

From making a perfectly silky smooth soup to kneading dough, this food processor is super versatile. Other functions include chopping, grating, slicing, blending and whisking.

Specs-wise, dimensions are 19cm x 22.5cm x 39.5cm, the 2.6 litre bowl is BPA-free, it uses 650 watts, and is designed with a commercial-grade induction motor. I love how powerful the food processor is, but also extremely quiet! And get this: the motor has a 20-year warranty! Then, the parts’ warranty is three years.

This is the best food processor Singapore consumers can have; the wizard does it all.

Kenwood Multipro Go

Kenwood Multipro Go, $148

Best compact food processor

Calling all one-bedroom apartment consumers! If your kitchen space is limited, or you don’t have much counter room, the neat Kenwood Multipro is so compact in size, you can store it in a kitchen drawer, not a cupboard! (Its dimensions are 15.8D x 15.8W x 29.7H cm.)

Primarily for slicing, dicing, chopping and grating, my favourite bit about this best food processor is how little (to no) mess is left behind. I wouldn’t say I’m a fastidious person/OCD when it comes to mess (okay, maybe just a little), but I do appreciate a spotless counter post-cook. This is because the section where you feed your fruit or vegetables through for chopping, etc., then exits through a shoot (without having to remove any lids), and lands directly into your desired bowl or plate! How cool is that?!

The food processing side of things gives you two speed options, including a pulse function. Whizz up nutty mixtures, like granola, or even make your own bread or pizza dough. It uses 650 watts.

Kenwood also has a larger food processor, the food processor Kenwood Multipro Compact (don’t be confused here by the word ‘compact,’ this one is larger than the Multipro Go). But the food processor Kenwood Multipro Go has better consumer feedback.

Breville BFP660 the Kitchen Wizz®11 Food Processor

Breville Kitchen Wizz 11 Food Processor, $598

Best industrial food processor

Out of all the best food processor options on the market, Breville’s heavy-duty machines are an absolute favorite, and for multiple reasons. I love how incredibly sturdy the Kitchen Wizz 11 feels when using it; it’s a high-impact, premium build that feels like it can withstand any texture, from tough nuts to heavy grains, without a single stutter.

It’s extraordinarily powerful, equipped with a heavy-duty, direct-drive induction motor that simply will not fail or falter under pressure. Designed with a micro-serrated Quad® Blade system that cuts on separate planes, the speed and precision of its cutting are insane! As a foodie, I do like my veggies to be perfectly and uniformly streamlined. Speaking of slicing and dicing, you can set your preferred thickness between a paper-thin 0.3 mm and a thick-cut 8.0 mm thanks to a variable slicing disc with a staggering 24 settings to choose from!

Variety is everything with this top-tier appliance. It features an extra-wide feed chute so you can slice longer items without pre-cutting, alongside a mini feed chute to prevent thin ingredients like carrots from tipping over.

Any fellow multitaskers out there? The Kitchen Wizz 11 features built-in overload protection and a rapid safety braking system that instantly stops the machine if the lid is unexpectedly opened, giving you total peace of mind. It features a generous 11-cup (2.6-litre) dry capacity bowl, a stainless steel spindle, a reversible shredder, and a dough blade. Best of all, the high-impact bowl and parts are entirely BPA-free!

Just because something is mini in size doesn’t mean it’s any less powerful! For those who aren’t super into cooking, but still want a convenient kitchen appliance that takes care of chopping, slicing and blending for you with no knives involved — hey, not everyone has knife skills — then consider the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor.

Cuisinart has been around since the 70s, established in the USA, and is considered among the luxury kitchen appliances category. So you’re also paying for quality! I’d say it’s fairly priced. The motor is strong, and it does the job at hand in a matter of seconds/minutes. Many buyers comment on how fast the food processor works.

The container fits up to three cups of contents, and the patented reversible stainless steel blade works for both grinding and chopping.

Philips Avent 4 in 1 Healthy Baby Food Maker, $205

KitchenAid 7-Cup Food Processor

KitchenAid 7-Cup Food Processor, $259

Best aesthetic-looking food processor

When it comes to aesthetics, brands like KitchenAid and Smeg take first prize! For buyers who are set on a powerful food processor that is long-lasting, but also looks great in the kitchen, you’ll dig KitchenAid’s range!

Available in the American brand’s iconic colours (Empire Red, Almond Cream and Black Matte), it boasts a modern-retro appearance.

This specific KitchenAid food processor chops, mixes, shreds and purees, with enough ingredients filtered through its two-in-one feed tube (into a 1.7-litre work bowl) to create up to seven cups. Choose between three speed settings, which are displayed as lit-up LED press buttons.

Going back to its feed tube, I love the two sizes. For example, one is ideal for pouring through precise liquids, like olive oil, sesame oil, vinegar, etc., whilst the other, larger one is the food-feeding side.

Using 250W, the appliance weighs 4.25kg. Dimensions are 24.6cm (length) x 31.5cm (width) x 40.9cm (height).

Braun PureEase Food Processor FP 3132 BK

Braun PureEase Food Processor FP 3132 BK, $169

Most affordable multi-purpose food processor

One thing you want to look out for when purchasing a food processor is its functions. Some processors simply have basic functions like grating and slicing. But if you spend more time in the kitchen than most, and really enjoy the act of cooking itself (I love cooking to relax), then I would suggest opting for a food processor with multiple functions, just like the Braun PureEase.

Apart from the basics, like chopping, grating and slicing, this wizard also has puree, whisk and knead functions! So whether you want to whip up some fresh cream, make the perfect sourdough or slice your vegetables uniformly, all you need is this one tool to do it all!

It comes with two speeds (fast and slow), as well as a pulse button. It uses 800 watts.

Some other features that make this food processor a standout include its large 2.1-litre bowl (bigger than most), as well as the fact that it ALSO comes with a 1.2-litre blender for smoothies and such. (So it’s also a money saver.)

Also, it comes with a variety of attachments. These include a dough kneading tool, whipping/blending tool, reversible stainless steel 4mm slicing/shredding disc, emulsifying disc, multi mill and a spatula.

Bosch Food Processor MCM3501MGB

Bosch Food Processor MCM3501MGB, $169

Do your shopping habits often lead you to opting for a well-trusted/established brand over some of the newer ones on the market — even if it means foregoing the “fancy extras” that they try to win you over with? I do this when my logic kicks in. I prefer sticking to brands that I know do the job over the “shinier” options. Case in point: Bosch, which has been around for over 130 years (established in Germany in 1886)!

Versatile, powerful and a space saver (even though it comes with an array of attachments), Bosch buyers mention that this food processor is great value for money!

It comprises a plastic mixing bowl and blender, a reversible stainless steel shredding disc and a slicing disk, a beating disc, a stuffer, a universal knife and shredder, a plastic dough tool, a grinding blade and a protection cap for the blade.

The mixing bowl has a 500g ingredient capacity and a 1-litre liquidiser attachment.

My only reservation is the plastic bowl and blender. That being said, many food processor containers are manufactured from plastic, but look out for one that is BPA-free.

Best food processor for large households

For those who do thorough research before buying any appliance—whether it’s a smart TV for the living room or a gadget for the kitchen—you might have noticed that Ninja’s appliances consistently lock in five-star reviews! Generally, the Ninja brand is a massive household favorite when it comes to blenders, smoothie-makers, and juicers, so it’s zero surprise that their dedicated food processor is a firm favorite for serious meal prep.

Thanks to this high-torque power system, it effortlessly powers through tough, rough, and bulky-textured ingredients without ever lagging. Tefal Multifunction All-In-One Easyforce Food Processor

Tefal Multifunction All-In-One Easyforce Food Processor, $128

Most diverse multifunction food processor

Is your kitchen setup one that favours lighter-coloured appliances? It might sound finicky to some, but just ask an interior designer: streamlining even your kitchen appliance colour palette matters.

But above the design, it’s about the food processor’s capabilities.

The biggest pro for me is the whopping 25 various functions that the appliance offers! Among these include the basics like shredding, grating, chopping and slicing, and then a whole bunch of other cool functions like kneading or emulsifying for when you’re making hollandaise sauce, mayo, nut butters, or even ice cream! I’m a HUGE fan of this food processor’s variety — it’s a big tick in my books.

The bowl is massive: 2.4 litres. Plus, it also comes with a 1.8-litre blender.

There are six multifunctional attachments, and the optimum must-use speed setting is engraved into each one. How convenient?!
