Occupying 6,000 sq ft inside the Capitol, the large-scale Korean pottery studio-cum-vegetarian cafe is the largest of its kind in Singapore.
The studio features a natural, open-space concept with neutral colours. Freshly dried ceramics line the walls, waiting for their turn in the kiln. Throwing wheels sit in a semicircle, perfect for beginners who need guidance during the first time.
Koreans’ rich history with ceramic wares dates back as far as 5000 BC and includes decorative earthenware and modern kitchen staples like clay pots and ttukbaegi, the classic serve ware for bibimbap and jjigae dishes.
Am I Addicted provides clay of high quality from South Korea for local potters. It also has more than 130 glazes and five different types of clay, and offers classes for beginners and experts, freestyle sessions, and children’s workshops.
The Korean-fusion vegetarian cafe is right next to the studio. It boasts dark colours and warm lighting, creating an intimate ambience. Diners are welcomed by a coffee bar with a black steel frame. Inside, dark timber chairs and tables are paired with textured upholstery, brass details, mirror panels, and racks displaying the actual fermented ingredients used for the menu.
The menu rotates monthly, featuring refreshing drinks, raw and cooked vegan plates, and cafe staples made guilt-free with alternative vegan ingredients. You must try the delicious Grilled Cheese Kimchi Sandwich. With the kimchi’s kick of flavour and the crisp crunch of the bread, you’ll be begging for more. The Torta Di Riso Pasta, a vegan pasta dish with alternative prawns and squid, is also noteworthy.
Wash it all down with I Am Addicted’s signature beverage chung, which is made with housemade Korean marmalade. Vibrantly coloured, it tastes of fresh fruits and flowers.
