Interior designer Leon Luo of Free Space Intent tells that the design of this renovated 5-room HDB flat home is based on a bohemian theme.
As the homeowners love handicrafts, the walls were left blank so that they can put up new pieces as they create them.
Besides achieving an open and free-flowing feel in the home, the designer gave the place a fun look with lots of colour and texture.
Entrance (After)
A cheery and "free-spirited" atmosphere is created, thanks to lots of bright colour and a mix of patterns in the materials and furnishings.
Living Room (After)
Making better use of space, the designer zoned out the open living area to create a more cosy and intimate feel.
Behind the TV wall, there are two sliding pocket doors that allow the lounge area to either be kept open, or closed off for privacy.
Soft furnishings with different prints and patterns, as well as decor with ethnic-inspired designs can be seen throughout the home.
Although the new kitchen is smaller, it has a practical U-shape layout and everything is kept within easy reach.
Study Room (After)
The study is now brighter and more airy, accessible from both the entrance foyer and living area.
Master Bedroom (Before)
The large and spacious master bedroom came with an old HDB-style en suite bathroom with water and sewage pipes exposed.
Master Bedroom (After)
A walk-in wardrobe (or large dressing area) was one of the homeowners' requirements, and this was achieved by extending the footprint of the master bedroom into the study area.
Textured paint in a soothing pale blue hue for the walls give the master bedroom a peaceful feel.
Children's Bedroom (After)
The interior designer and homeowner decided to inject pops of vibrant teal and purple- juxtaposed with warm and comforting wooden flooring - to the children's bedroom.
Common Bathroom (After)
Wood-look tiles laid in a chevron pattern introduces warmth into the bathroom.
