The homeowners enlisted the expertise of interior designer Karina Zabihi from KZ Designs to infuse their contemporary Asian decor with a festive Mexican flair, complete with "rich details and bold colours".

Karina skilfully created a bright and airy ambience by layering clean white and pale wood tones as the base. She replaced the existing parquet flooring with lacquered white cement that mimics a handpainted look, while the stair railing was painted white to blend seamlessly with the walls. The bold blue stair treads add to the punched-up hues of the living room, reinforcing the vibrant colour palette.
