Clean a ceiling fan with a pillowcase. Slide it over a blade and pull out slowly; the dust will be collected into the bag.

Sprinkle baking soda on floors before vacuuming; this absorbs smell from both carpet/floor as well as the vacuum. Essential oils will leave a fresh scent, too.
