1. Sweet Basil

Sweet basil can be added to pasta to give it an intense clove like taste. It's also used in mojitos and other drinks — simply bruise some basil leaves, add them to carbonated soda and you're done!


2. Coriander

It's used as a garnish by most but coriander can also be turned into a pesto for a marindate, dip or for pasta.


3. Rosemary

Whether you're roasting chicken or grilling fish, rosemary goes great with most types!


4. Sage

Sage is excellent for seasoning poultry, fish and beef. Its flower can also be added to salads for a refreshing touch.


5. Parsley

Just like coriander, parsley is often used as a garnish, but it's great for making pestos, salad dressing and tabbouleh.


6. Thyme

When paired with other ingredients like onions, garlic and butter, thyme's flavour gets elevated. It's also great for stews and soups.


7. Oregano

Oregano is great for use in egg and poultry dishes because it helps to give a fragrant scent and adds flavour.


8. Chives

Chives are usually eaten or served with sour cream and gives a light onion-like flavour. It's also great with fish and potatoes.


9. Dill 

Dill is regularly used in flavourful foods, like cheese, gravlax and seafood, because of its sharp flavour.


10. Mint

Mint can be used in both sweet and savoury dishes and is well loved by Mediterraneans for seasoning lamb and salads.
