Cockroaches may be part of the eco-system, but we sure don't want them in our homes! Here are three simple and natural ways to get rid of them.

Tea tree oil

Rub pure tea tree oil on areas where you suspect the cockroaches are coming from. These pests hate the smell of citrus and fresh-smelling oils like tea tree and peppermint, so keep some at home. Alternatively you can mix some water and the oil to make a chemical-free insecticide. As cockroaches breathe through their skin, the oil can suffocate them.

Borax and sugar

Commonly recommended by exterminators, borax helps dehydrate the cockroaches’ skin. The sugar acts as bait, and when consumed together they form a deadly combination.

Coffee grounds

The strong smell of coffee grounds can be pretty off-putting for cockroaches too!
