Patterned tiles are a popular choice of surfacing material, as not only are they relatively durable, but are also very decorative and can really add to a space.

They come in many designs with lots of different colours and prints, so how do you match them? You can either contrast them with other plain surfaces, such as concrete screed and tiles in a neutral tone, or clash them with other patterned tiles and textured materials. The effect will be different — the first to create more of a focal point for a space or design you want to highlight, and the second for a more fun and wacky look.

See in the following slides some ideas for mixing and matching with patterned tiles.
