"Our goal is to give the children a very good place to grow up in. We wanted to create a proper living space for them to want to come home to and now, when we go out, they can't wait to come back," shares the homeowners.

"I could see they needed more storage space. They are both avid collectors - Mr Lim has his books and artefacts, and Mrs Lim has a stuffed bear collection," says designer Rick Tay interior design firm Create. So he designed modern storage spaces that displayed the couple's collections, helped keep clutter at bay and made the flat feel spacious.

3. Japanese-style four-room HDB BTO apartment in Whampoa

With the help of their interior designer from Studio Super Safari, these homeowners wanted to achieve the Japanese zen garden-inspired look, while having a cosy study area and sufficient wardrobe spaces in their home.

The interior design team at Studio Super Safari chose the use of light wood tones and whites to achieve the look that the homeowners wanted.

Real bamboo pieces were used to create a screen in the master bedroom, which has a 600mm-high platform bed to create a cosier sleeping space.
