$80,000 renovation for this chic and edgy four-room BTO HDB flat in Kallang
Rough and raw is artfully melded with refined luxe in this home.
Concrete screed flooring and cement walls form the bare canvas of the open-concept living area, which is played up with stylish furniture and decor in attractive jewel-tone shades and metallic accents.
The homeowners worked with Chris Huang of Bowerman Interior Planner, who designed the flat with streamlined, linear features, and juxtaposed materials such as concrete and marble, to achieve the industrial-luxe aesthetic.

Soho apartment in Kallang with vibrant hues and textures
For this Soho apartment in Kallang , the designer at Distinctidentity constructed the 300sqf loft level, its staircase and railing out of galvanised metal, which is stable due to its weight.
The designer also customised several shelves and storage spaces to ensure the homeowner can keep the home looking clutter-free.
Spare and uncluttered three-room HDB bachelor pad
Architect Jonathan Poh was asked by his client and good friend to transform his 721sqf three-room flat in Kallang into a quiet sanctuary with “honest materials” for a sense of quiet luxury. The owner, a former flight attendant, was inspired by the décor of Hotel de la Paix in Hua Hin.
Using one wood veneer throughout unifies the different spaces.
