1) House Tour: Lots of greenery in this luxurious five-room penthouse
Ivan Teo and Jason Huang from Haire Living were tasked with transforming an old, five-room penthouse at The Serenade at Holland Condominium into a contemporary home for a large family.
The designers envisioned a clean, contemporary look with plush furnishings, and to bring some "life" into elegant design, added lots of greenery to outdoor spaces.
An unused open space next to the en suite master bedroom was turned into a semi-sheltered outdoor spa, complete with a jacuzzi and sauna.

2) House Tour: A cheerful condo apartment designed for fun family time
When Ms Shi and her husband Dickson Seow went looking for a new home over a year ago, they wanted one that was big enough for their growing kids and was close to their school. After viewing a few units they settled on one that was on a lower floor at Ridgewood Condominium off Holland Road that has views of tree tops and quickly set about to move in.
“In my mind, I wanted a home for the kids to interact,” Ms Shi says. To do this, she made play an essential part of her decorating scheme. This includes the huge 10-seater dining table that doubles as a play table for the children’s many hobbies such as painting, board games and various handicrafts. The dining table is specially treated for outdoor use and to withstand the rigours of play. “It’s my favourite piece of furniture,” she adds.
Despite the convenience of having her new home pre-renovated, Ms Shi was determined to inject her own family’s personality into the spaces. “It’s important to display things that have meaning in our lives.” Therefore, her collection of vinyl records and antique shop finds are all proudly displayed throughout the home.

3) House Tour: $280,000 renovation for this chic, contemporary-style four-bedroom condominium apartment
“White walls with no wallcoverings, and a simple and timeless design” was the brief given by Dr David Wong and Melissa Lim to their interior designer, Zack Lim of Lush Interior Design.
The result is chic contemporary aesthetics and simple material finishes for a bright and airy four-room condominium near Holland Road.
In the bathroom, the walls and floors are decked in luxurious white marble-look tiles, installed in a staggered strip pattern.
Through a renovation that cost $280,000, Zack incorporated sleek, well-crafted and elegantly proportioned features throughout the home.

4) Spacious, elegant apartment in Quinterra condominium off Holland Road
With the double volume height in the living room of this apartment, the designers created a full-height feature wall on which the TV is mounted on, to accentuate the height and loftiness.
A dark colour palette adds sophistication to the interiors.

5) House Tour: Conservation house off Holland road gets makeover by Studio Milou
Designed by architecture firm studioMilou, this conservation bungalow sits on a 2,000sqm site. The design of the house gives a sense of transparency and fludity between the old and the new buildings, and between the interior and exterior.
The dense foliage caress the many glass surfaces of the house, even those on the second storey where most of the bedrooms are.

6) House Tour: Two-storey colonial bungalow near Holland Road
Designed by designer Aamer Taher, this two-storey, L-shaped house off Holland Road is done in a contemporary, black and white style. One wing is where the foyer and homeowner David Liao's bedroom is, while the other wing houses the living and dining areas, and four bedrooms.
The elements of a black and white house are still present: the broad verandas, balconies, the use of natural ventilation, and the deep overhanging eaves. But since this is a home for the family of today, modern amenities, including air conditioning, a 25m lap pool, a lift, an underground karaoke room and an outdoor shower have been put in. And of course, those black and white bamboo blinds are ever present, not only for adding to that nostalgic touch but serving their real purpose of keeping the sun out.

7) House Tour: Eco-friendly house that won the BCA Green Mark Platinum Award
It took Mrs Darani Winnie Tsao four years to design and build her bungalow in Astrid Hill off Holland Road. But she did not mind as long as she could live in an eco-friendly house when it was finally completed in 2015.
