Aman Hotels Will Soon Be Opening in Seoul: 38-storeys of Contemporary-Traditional Korean architecture in Cheongdam
Fusing traditional Korean spatial proportions with refined contemporary minimalism, the Cheongdam tower introduces an elevated interior language of quiet sanctuary to Seoul’s skyward skyline.

Aman has officially announced its South Korean debut, Aman Seoul. Developed in strategic partnership with global asset manager Shinsegae Property, the integrated urban sanctuary brings together a luxury hotel, private branded residences, and an exclusive global Aman Club in the prestigious Cheongdam district of Gangnam.
Architecture
Designed in collaboration between design teams, Shinsegae Property, and local South Korean craftspeople, the property’s architectural profile balances modern urbanity with traditional Korean spatial sensibilities. Rising above ground with multiple subterranean levels, the towering vertical structure sits prominently along the Han River in Seoul.
The overall architectural style is rooted in a minimalist contemporary aesthetic that harmonises with Seoul’s juxtapositions - a metropolis where ancient heritage and high-tech innovation coexist.
Rather than imposing a generic glass tower, the design draws on traditional Korean architectural spatial traditions.
It uses carefully orchestrated arrival sequences and dedicated entrances to afford the hotel, residences, and private club distinct identities and total privacy.
This design philosophy mirrors the broader regional movement of modern East Asian architecture, where monumental urban footprints are softened by interior courtyards, natural textures, and a strong sense of spatial progression
Rooms’ interior design
The interiors, curated alongside local artisanal partners, embody a grounded, tranquil sanctuary intended to sit high above the bustling city. The living spaces feature generous open layouts and floor-to-ceiling glazing framing expansive views of the Han River and the Seoul skyline.

Specific individual hotel room and suite names, and their fixed nightly rates have not been disclosed in the official launch details. Aman Tokyo, for example, typically costs S$2,300 to S$2,700 per night during low-to-mid season, while peak-season rates can exceed S$3,700 to S$4,600+ per night. Prices for Amanpuri Phuket, on the other hand, typically start from S$1,800 to S$2,400 per night in regular seasons, while high-season villa rates scale significantly higher.
The development features a multi-floor spa and wellness facility, private dining concepts, and dedicated leisure facilities including an exclusive Aman Club pool and lounge.
Aman Residences, Seoul
The private residential units elevate the brand’s aesthetic language through custom furnishings, bespoke joinery, and curated decor elements from Aman Interiors. The double-height open-plan living rooms feature deep-set lounge seating, low-slung timber tables, and floating architectural columns designed to frame the surrounding landscape.
