When this family of four moved into a brand new condominium in Marine Parade, they knew they were downsizing to a smaller abode. To preserve the spacious, calm atmosphere they were accustomed to, they turned to interior designer Lisa Ng from Ansana for a condominium renovation. The interior designer had previously renovated the family's first home and was familiar with their preferences.

"They needed ample storage space throughout the condo renovation, as well as a large study for their daughter who's still in school," interior designer Lisa explains. Tackling the daunting task of fitting a wardrobe, a desk for schoolwork, and space for the daughter's musical hobbies into the same area, Lisa combined two of the four bedrooms during the condo renovation process.

Study and bedroom

The extra room was kept for the son, who lives overseas and returns only occasionally. It features a fold-down bed that seamlessly transitions the space between a study and a bedroom, maximizing the functionality of the room.

In the master bedroom, the condo renovation involved replacing the en suite bathroom's wall with a glass panel, creating the illusion of a larger space.

Complementing this, a floor-to-ceiling mirror strip next to the bathroom creates the impression of a wider walkway between the bathroom and the bed. Balancing out these sleek surfaces is a ceiling-high headboard made of padded triangles in muted turquoise tones.

These serene turquoise hues carry through to the living room, bringing a cool, tranquil vibe to the apartment. Despite the wall of storage shelves that dominates the back of the living room, the space maintains a clean look, thanks to the pairing of white marble flooring with light grey upholstered furniture in the condo renovation design.
