Who Lives Here: A homeowner couple
Home: A ground floor apartment in Marine Parade
Size: 1,400 sq ft (130 sqm)
Interior Designer: Prozfile
Fluted panel
In order to make the condominium apartment feel more spacious, the interior design team kept to a basic white for the walls of the home.
This created a blank canvas over which they could then impart interior design elements to help the spaces stand out on their own.
By the main door of the home is a console with a fluted panel design. This becomes a common theme to lead seamlessly into the living area.
Partition wall
To make the living area feel more intimate, the team built a partition wall with fluted panels on all sides and rounded corners to separate the entrance foyer from the living room.
The other side of the partition becomes an ideal spot for the TV console. A see-through shelving design worked into the partition ensures that there is visual connectivity between the foyer and the living room.
Herringbone flooring
The use of subdued hues in the living area, combined with the light-coloured wooden flooring in herringbone pattern creates a modern and sophisticated feel.
Additional space was created in the partition wall so that the rest of the living room wouldn't have to be surrounded by shelving.
Dining room
The living room opens into the dining area connected to the kitchen and lounge area.
Here, the interior design team put extra effort into creating a cosy atmosphere so that the homeowners can entertain his friends and family.
Marble countertop
A marble kitchen island takes centerstage in this area, backed by a beautifully-designed backwall and counter.
White brick wall
The interior design team decided to make use of the exposed brick wall behind the counter and turned it into the highlight of the space with a matte white finish and the addition of some floating backlit display shelves.
Wet ktichen
Use of straight lines continues in the design of the wet kitchen.
They create sharp, well-defined edges on furniture, architectural elements, and decor, contributing to the overall minimalist and uncluttered feel of the space.
Dark bedroom
The white theme is accented with darker tones in the bedroom, with dark laminate finishes for the headboard and flooring.
Bedroom storage
With space being a premium in the bedroom, the homeowner requested for plenty of storage area to optimise the layout of the bedroom.
Master bathroom design
The design of the master bathroom was kept simple, which helped to visually expand the look and feel of the space.
