The interior designers at Space Sense demonstrate how a small space like this 4-room HDB flat in Punggol can be turned into a chic home. With trendy elements like the brick wall feature and an elegant and subdued colour palette, this couple's home is both fashionable and classic at the same time!

Living Room

The living room is a medley of subtle textures brought in by the colourful rug, fabric sofa, and exposed bricks, which all come together to create a snug space. Keeping a small space like this largely undecorated also helps to enhance its brightness and openness.

Open-Concept Kitchen

The open concept dining area is set apart from the living room with a different wall treatment. A change in tempo is needed to zone this area, and it's achieved by the space's cement screed walls and solid wood industrial dining table. Having an open plan kitchen is also another popular idea that visually enlarges a small apartment.

Master Bedroom

Just like the living room, the bedroom is kept minimalistic. The wooden headboard and bed frame defines the sleeping area, and the dark, smoky wood-finish floors contrasts handsomely with the white walls and ceiling. Sliding glass panel doors were also used to separate the bedroom with the wardrobe area to save space and let more natural light to flow between both areas.

Walk-In Wardrobe

While an entire bedroom is dedicated to the couple's wardrobe space, they've restrained themselves from overloading it with clutter. The result of keeping much of the floor space clear and concealing all their belongings in built-in cabinets gives this space a much more inviting vibe.

In order to prevent the space from looking to bulky with just a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe dominating the space, a bookshelf was included in the design. Fit snugly into the niche beside the windows, this small area allow some colour to be brought into the wardrobe area with the help of books and decor accessories.

The home's brown-white-black colour palette is carried through to the bathroom, allowing the entire HDB flat to be united in one consisted look.
