This stunning 1,000+ sqm home in Russia was designed by interior design firm Boca Do Lobo,  who combined contemporary design with natural materials.  Comprising a spacious loft, lounge zone, study, dining room, two living rooms and a small kitchen, the home exudes a modern country home ambiance.

“We used wood in the interior to decorate the walls, the floors and part of the ceiling -- this material creates a remarkable atmosphere and smells fantastic!" says the designer.

Colours, prints, and textures -- as seen here, on the base of the table as well as the fabric upsholstering of the dining chairs -- add depth to the space.

While the living room exudes a light-filled, fresh atmosphere, the dining room is more warm and cosy.

Although the designers tried to imbue the "country home" look, they avoided cliches. "“It is neither chateau, nor chalet, and you won’t see here bearskins and reindeer heads," they said. For the kitchen, they designed a stainless steel island, to match with the countertop of the built-in system.

The wooden slats used throughout the house helps demarcate areas, without homeowners feeling "boxed" up. Light also filters through from room to room, which brightens the home.

The wooden Pixel Cabinet by Boca do Lobo is a customised piece. A similar geometric pattern and colourway can also be seen in other parts of the home, such as the living room.
