Home & Decor Singapore pays tribute to three decades of design with a look back on its most interesting features over the years.
This week we look at the American singer and actress’ spectacular mansion residence in Hollywood that celebrates Egyptian decor.
Dazzling extravagance is superstar Cher's style - on stage and off. The singer-actress has eccentric, expensive taste which is lavishly reflected in her designer decorated US$4million modern-day Egyptian palace.
"I mostly live in my bedroom," she says. Cher, who has won an Oscar for her role in the film Moonstruck, lives quietly with her children, Chastity and Elijah.
Warmth and intimacy is created with shaggy carpets and plump upholstery, along with concealed lighting to spotlight the fireplace. Houseproud Cher doesn't give showbiz parties because, "I couldn't stand people stomping cigarette butts into my carpet and spilling red wine on my couches."
The boldly imaginative living room boasts a cavernous living room with thick marble columns, marble floors and huge mirrors bordered by golden carved pythons (see above).
