Getting that classic contemporary European-style interiors look may not be easy, but local interior design studio, Authors Interior & Styling, managed to achieve it by relying on a few key elements. It’s so well done that we decided to give them a shoutout here on our website.
The predominatly white interiors are decked with gold accents, from the gold pendant lights to the fittings in the bathroom. This mix of gold on white really helps to evoke that sophisticated yet subtle air of luxury.
Another thing they did was to add moldings to the walls. Now this technique is not often used here but it’s commonplace in the houses around Europe and America. The trick here is to ensure that the moldings are proportionate to the size of the walls, otherwise it will look odd and unsightly.
Framing the furniture in a bold black stripe also helps to add dimension and depth to the space.
In the master bedroom, the headboard is lined up against an impressive feature wall designed with an interesting wallpaper pattern. This gives the relatively small space a much bigger feel.
Additional care was put into making sure that the gold on white theme follows through, from the furniture to the fittings and even the drapes.
Instead of multiple chairs, one plush and well tufted armchair next to the window creates an indulgent atmosphere in this corner.
Finally in the bathroom, white tiles align perfectly with the white sink counter made with the look of an antique drawer. Brilliant!
