Home to a family of four including two young kids, this four-room HDB BTO unit has several features that add a fun and unique look to the space.

The homeowners were concerned that passers-by were able to look into their unit when they keep the door open for ventilation, so the designers at Seed Interiors created a divider out of ventilation blocks to allow more privacy, while light and airflow is not compromised.

To separate the entranceway and the living area, the designers suggested concrete screed and wood-look finishes for flooring in these two spaces respectively.

Industrial-style elements such as the exposed piping on the ceiling and exposed bulb lighting fixtures give the home added character.

The kitchen has a darker colour palette. Black subway tiles are used for the backsplash and appliances including the stove and oven blend in with this palette for an overall seamless look.

Having enough storage spaces overhead and under the counter keeps the countertops clutter-free.

The palette follows through in the service yard too, which is a dedicated space for the homeowners to do their laundry.

The homeowners spent $36,000 on renovation and additional funds on furniture from Castlery and Carousell.
