Home to couple Jeff and Siew Hoon, their 10-year old daughter and Jeff's elderly mom, this modern, minimalist loft apartment near Hougang has everything the family needs. The colour palette of the home comprises off-white and black tones, complemented with light wood carpentry.

As the home has limited storage space, the couple engaged designer Carmen Tang of Wolf Woof to help with the interior design of their home.

First, to enhance the entrance foyer while meeting the storage requirements of the homeowner, Carmen built a "hanging" shoe cabinet with LED light installed at the bottom of the carpentry so the space doesn't feel claustrophobic.

The living room has a lofty ceiling, which Carmen took advantage to incorporate hanging pendant lights to create some visual interest.

The TV storage cabinet is designed such that it is incorporated into the staircase leading to the newly built loft. This way, the overall design looks sleek, clean, yet maintains its function.

To ensure there is sufficient storage in the home, Carmen built full-height cabinetry here, with open niches for the homeowners to display some knick knacks.

Every part of the home has also been "labelled" with large metal letters with short, quirky quotes. The balcony has also been transformed into the dining area for the family, where they can enjoy the surrounding view, while they dine.

The renovation came up to $55,000 including fixtures and fittings.
