You'd never have guessed that this chic villa in Melbourne was once in very bad shape. Tasked with its rejuvenation, SWG Studio gave the walls and ceiling a fresh coat of white paint as a base for its contemporary interior.

The living room, which shares its space with the study, features a tasmanian oak timber floor and wood-look laminated joineries.

While the living room has its fair share of furniture pieces in linear silhouettes, the kitchen sports a softer ambience with round shapes.

The same wood-look laminate was used for the kitchen, too, to create a harmonious look.

Look closer and you'll realise that despite its contemporary look, the villa features various artful and eclectic furniture and accessories. There's this 10th anniversary edition of Kartell's Louis Ghost Chair by Philippe Starck...

...And a vintage-look side table that has been paired with interesting knick knacks.

We also like how this industrial-chic cabinet was paired with the contemporary wood-look console.

In the bedroom, the designers moved away from the earthy hues to include bits of passionate red.
