Tucked away in one of the most coveted residential addresses in London, this three-bedroom duplex apartment was designed by Charu Gandhi, founder and director of multi-award-winning design studio Elicyon.

Christened the Blossom apartment, the Chelsea Barracks home is a nod to early 19th-century Belgravia, when the area was full of idyllic orchards and pastures before it became the exclusive residential district of today. "We were also inspired by the Chelsea Flower Show," shares Charu. The result is a family home that's modern and lush, with plenty of floral motifs and organic shapes that lend warmth to the space.

Neutrals and soft pastels form the colour palette throughout the apartment. Together with the textures woven into each room, they create an ambience of relaxed glamour.

"I particularly like how the dining chairs draw your eye across the lateral living space, into the dining room beyond, with their deeper colour tone, interesting form and metal legs," shares Charu.

Envisioning the apartment as a family home, Charu made sure to incorporate flexibility into the space.

"We have imagined the third bedroom as a flexible space, either for children, a guest or as a study. This is increasingly in keeping with the flexible manner in which we find people using homes the size of this apartment," she says.

On the ground floor, floor to ceiling windows bring in plenty of natural light and air to the apartment.

Flowing, organic shapes lend warmth to the home. Here, a "trailing" bespoke chandelier lights up the stairwell.

"We wanted the two floors to feel different, but with a sense of connectivity," says Charu.

In the living area, the organic elements continue in the details -- the soft rounded edges and abstract nature-inspired artwork lend a pleasing warmth.
