Home to a couple and their baby boy, this four-room HDB home at Punggol Waterway exudes a rustic charm with its industrial-inspired look.
The homeowners, who worked with Ju Design Studio, had told their interior designer Alex that they needed lots of space-saving ideas.
In the living room, Alex designed full-height storage cabinets that are incorporated with architectural lines created with the use of timbre panels that extend across the TV console to the ceiling. This gives the living room an atypical look, and is also a strategy to hide wiring without the need for cove ceilings.
Despite the limited space in the home, Alex designed a dedicated corner next to the TV console for the dining area, with a bench that extends from the design of the storage cabinets. To add to the industrial look, exposed bulb lighting fixtures were chosen.
The kitchen has a grey and wood palette, complete with a textural look thanks to raw concrete screed walls and white subway tiles on the backsplash.
The unconventional black countertop adds to the edginess of this space, while still being extremely functional.
The bedroom too, has a rustic vibe yet warm ambience. A timber headboard is flanked by two black wardrobes positioned at odd angles for a unique look.
