House Tour: A male lawyer's penthouse unit with a collection of designer classics

This penthouse condominium unit in the central district is home to Cliff, a lawyer who has an eye for designer classics and cutting-edge modern design.

Armed with interior glossies and a keen sense of style, Cliff worked with Arc Define to build his vision.

Cliff loves wood, but he knows too much can be oppressive in a small space. As such, he interposes the area with shots of white.

The white leather Charles and Ray Eames lounge chair (pictured above) and black marble Arco lamp (pictured below) were his first purchases from London. They are paired with a Chinese Huanghuali chair with a wishbone back (pictured below).

Having amassed furniture, paintings and decorative objects for years, Cliff had a good stash to play with. A mix of textures and styles keeps the eye moving.

Cliff decided to take down the kitchen walls to create a kitchen that could also accomodate a large dining area.

Laying a cement floor over the living and dining areas, and the dry kitchen afforded a clean, modern backdrop to layer on his eclectic mix of furniture. The dry kitchen is visible in the open-plan space, and Cliff's solution was to make it as glamorous as possible - with bronze mirror-fronted cabinets.

The bedroom, in plum and grey, features Cliff’s first painting (a Chinese floral piece) above the bed.
