It's a common renovation story with an unconventional twist - the owner of this heartland bohemian chic HDB apartment went bold with vibrant colours and design elements. Renovated at around $55,000, the flat exudes a fresh, contemporary take on bohemian interior design masterminded by Jade Kwok of Fuse Concept.

The eclectically charming bohemian interior befits the homeowner, a homebased artist and crafter. "We collaborated closely on the colour scheme and look. Her openness to incorporating bold hues and bohemian elements was key," says interior designer Jade.

Bold colour splashes continue in the kitchen with intense green walls and a whimsical orange Smeg fridge as the focal point.
Interior designer Jade incorporated groovy exposed panel lighting above the sink, track lights for cooking, and retro mosaic tile flooring into this bohemian interior. Mosaic tiles for the flooring lend a decidedly retro feel.
Black and white bathroom
The master bathroom's simplicity with black and white tiles is striking, with a long mirror creating depth. "I used wired glass for the sliding door to differentiate it from the clear bedroom glass," Jade explains.

Nautical blue walls in the master suite evoke a cozy seaside retreat ambiance. An eye-catching macrame wall hanging above the bed doubles as bohemian interior art.
Bohemian living room
The living room's partial wall removal opened up and brightened the bohemian chic space. Large homogeneous tiles enhance sightlines, appearing smart and spacious. Jade also introduced a cosy corner in the living room, a “personal” space in which a rattan chair is placed just next to the window. Light, sheer curtains add a breezy, restful ambience.
Functional bohemian workspace
Adjacent to the master bedroom, the owner's workspace integrates practical bohemian interior design with wooden shelving, furniture, and potted plants for a laidback yet functional vibe.
