House Tour: Clever use of wall treatments in this 1,400sqf apartment transforms the spaces into a luxurious sanctuary
By Young Lim -
One of the most startling things in this apartment is realising that not only is there no artwork on the walls, the walls themselves have become the ultimate works of art!
Notice how the interior design team from Ris Interior Design has selected a collection of muted cream tones for the look of the house.
The white on one side of the room is perfectly contrasted by the dark base colour of the Grigio Carnico marble walls along the TV console.
Metallic elements, from the trims to the lights and some of the wall panels help to inject a sophisticated and modern style to this classy look.
In keeping with the plush and decadent feel of the space, the furniture is kept simple in form and with curved silhouettes.
In the back wall, pieces of Cherokee marble tiles are arranged in a Chevron pattern to create a unqiue feature wall next to the dining table.
The bedframe is stately yet understated, bringing the various elements in the room together wihtout overwhelming the space.
This creates an interesting texture, which complements the soft furnishing and the wooden cabinetry.
Track lighting at the back of the metal shelf helps to draw the eye to the beautiful veins of the marble on the backwall.
Similarly the pendant lights also create lines that help to create a seamless look in the room.
Because of the complementary look of the design and the colour scheme, the home looks posh yet inviting, classic yet contemporary.
The gold tones also evoke a luxe air throughout the interiors.
