Simply by hacking a bedroom, interior designer Willam Chan of Spacedge Designs transformed this 4-room HDB flat into a spacious studio-style home that almost resembles a landed property!

As the homeowner didn't shy away from an open-concept bedroom, interior designer William was able to visually expand the entire common area, enabling the entire home to feel twice as large as before. Having a large, customised sofa to anchor the now expansive living area also adds to the drama of this home.

Full-Height Bed Headboard

In the midst of all the white walls, the bedroom's chocolate-hued headboard zones the resting space well by adding a moodier, more down tempo vibe to this corner.

Bedroom Sliding Doors

Thanks to the bedroom's sliding doors (which are completely out of sight when they're opened), the option of privacy is not completely ruled out.

Kitchen Design

A functional and streamlined design for the kitchen keeps the space looking spiffy and clean. Having wall-mounted racks also keeps the countertop from getting cluttered with cutlery and condiments.

Neon Yellow Cabinets

Colour is added into this home by way of vibrant cabinet interiors! This splash of neon yellow also creates a crisp contrast to its white exteriors, adding another dimension to the cabinet design.

The playful Kiss sofa was added to enliven up this area, which is dominated by the storage cabinet's sombre grey cladding.

Merged Bathrooms

As both of the 4-room HDB flat’s bathrooms are positioned next to each other in the original layout, all interior designer William had to do was tear down the wall that was dividing them to achieve this huge bathroom space that every HDB flat owner dreams of!
