House Tour: Calming white, wood, & concrete Duplex apartment in Tribeca, New York City
According to the design team at Space4Architecture, this duplex apartment in New York was designed with only three materials, “White plaster walls, oak for both floors and millwork, and smooth concrete floor, helps creating a very luminous space, giving it an almost ethereal flair.”
Family of Four
Designed for a family of four, this apartment in the Tribeca neighbourhood of New York emphasises on the creation of ample storage space.
Open & Spacious Interiors
“Our challenge was to maintain the openness of the original duplex space, while at the same time guarantee adequate privacy for our clients.”
Compact Storage
"We achieved this by the use of continuous compact storage volumes on both the lower and the upper floor."
Living Area
The kitchen, dining and living spaces are located on the second floor. These open onto an outdoor terrace.
Stairwell Skylight
An open skylight exists above the stairwell, allowing plenty of natural light to fill the space during the day.
Hidden Storage
On the other side of the void, one finds plenty of storage space concealed behind the white panels.
Master Bathroom
The master bathroom is spacious and segmented to create areas for shower, bathtub and toiletries.
Concrete Floor in Bathroom
Concrete floor in this area adds a touch of modernity to the space.
