When it comes to industrial interior design in Singapore’s compact living spaces, creativity and functionality need to work hand in hand. This stunning 2-bedroom condominium perfectly exemplifies how industrial-style elements can transform a modest space into an urban sanctuary.

Dan’s Workshop Interior Design

The homeowners approached designer Dan Wu from Dan’s Workshop with two specific requirements for their new haven - incorporate craft stone elements and optimize the limited space to comfortably accommodate guests. The result is a masterclass in industrial-style living that doesn’t compromise on practicality or aesthetic appeal.

Multipurpose mobile units

The living area showcases one of the most innovative aspects of this industrial interior design project - multipurpose mobile units cleverly integrated beneath built-in cabinetry. This smart storage solution maintains the clean lines of the industrial aesthetic while maximizing functionality. The TV console unit, crafted with rustic wood and metal elements, features wheels for easy mobility, demonstrating how industrial-style furniture can be both practical and visually striking.

Craftstone feature wall

In the master bedroom, Dan created a show-stopping craftstone feature wall that serves as the perfect backdrop for the contemporary furnishings. The textured surface adds depth and character to the room, while complementing the overall industrial-style theme. The exposed brick texture creates an authentic urban loft atmosphere, a hallmark of industrial interior design.

Industrial-style lighting

The lighting scheme plays a crucial role in defining the space’s character. The owners specifically requested industrial-style lighting fixtures, which include cage-style wall sconces and exposed conduit piping that doubles as a design element. These fixtures not only provide illumination but also add an urban edge that’s essential to the industrial aesthetic.

Mobile table for hosting

Storage solutions throughout the home were carefully considered to maintain the clean lines of industrial interior design while maximizing functionality. A particularly clever feature is the void space beneath the cabinetry, designed to house a mobile table when not in use. This thoughtful detail reduces visual clutter while ensuring that entertaining guests remains convenient and seamless.

Stylish and practical home

This project perfectly demonstrates how industrial interior design can transform a standard condominium into a unique living space that’s both stylish and practical. Through careful planning and innovative solutions, Dan’s Workshop has created a home that honors the industrial-style aesthetic while meeting the specific needs of modern urban living.

The combination of raw materials, thoughtful space planning, and industrial-style elements has resulted in a home that feels simultaneously spacious and cozy - proving that with the right approach, industrial interior design can work beautifully even in compact spaces.
