A home is a gathering space for the memories created by the people living in it, and this site held a special place in the hearts of the homeowners and their family members. Not only was the original house built by the homeowners themselves 25 years ago, it was also the place where the children grew up.

So when it came time to renovate the place, they were hesitant about tearing it down totally. In the end, the homeowners decided to hand the project over to established firm adLab. The design team proposed keeping elements of the original house, namely the two pitched roofs.

One roof faced the entrance, whle the other was positioned to face the right side of the house. In addition to the pitched roofs, the team also turned the original house into two buildings instead, connected by a central courtyard.

One side of the property will be for the homeowners, while the other wing will be for their youngest son.

The design team used a linear design language, focusing on the use of screens created by thin metallic beams to create a more imposing façade.

Upon entry into the house, one is greeted by the sounds of the water feature just outside the main door, with water flowing into the pool by the side of the home.

The double-volume height in the living room makes the interiors feel grander and more expansive.

In the day, light breezes blow through the balcony doors on both sides of the living room, allowing for cross ventilation within the space.
