The owner of this 1,991sqf penthouse condominium unit in Sembawang wanted her home to be swathed in “natural colours” and was soothing to return to at the end of each day. She sought the expertise of Joey Khu from Project File who had designed her previous home.

Joey suggested a second sofa set for the expansive balcony space . This is now where the homeowner hosts wine-drinking sessions with her friends.

A bedroom was convered into a study for the owner's son. Custom-built floor-to-ceiling shelves and a stepladder create a classic library look for the study.

The dining lamps provide some colour against the overall muted scheme.

Another important aspect of the renovation was the owner's request for "tons of storage" in order to fit her collection of shoes, bags and clothes - something of a job hazard for this brand manager of a fashion label.

The custom-built platform bed has pull-out storage drawers.

The master bedroom has a generous amount of storage, from the built-in wardrobe to under-bed drawers.

The homeowner wanted the TV out of sight when she was ready for bed. The designer used vertical tracks to build a sliding door, which hides the set when it isn't in use.

The built-in wardrobe stretches from the master bedroom right into the bathroom.

Patterned tiles on the bathroom floor in front of the washbasin create a low-maintenace "rug" that adds decoration to the space.
