The newlywed owners wanted the classic English look for their 1,227sqf three-bedroom condominium in Simei . So the couple’s brief to their designer JQ Ong of The Association was an English-themed home with a modern twist.

The original beige marble flooring in the living and dining rooms were thought too old-fashioned and changed to parquet to match the bedroom floors. A mirrored wall in the dining corner instantly "doubles" the space.

Panelled wall trimmings and skirting form the bones of the apartment, giving it a characteristic European feel.

The kitchen maintains the classic look with cabinets spray-painted matte white and marble-like homogenous tiles for the backsplash.

Trimming was added on top of the old skirting and later whitewashed to replicate a European feel.

A reading corner was carved out along the corridor.

The master bathroom comes complete with subway tiles, a wood laminate top and panelled cabinets.

All the walls, including those of the bedrooms, are painted Lilac White for a softer look.
