The owners of this 1,001 sqf four-room BTO HDB flat told their interior designer, Joann of Space Define Interior, that they wanted their home to be given a modern interpretation of the Victorian style.

In the living room, the TV console was built as a full-length storage unit with sliding doors. The marble laminate of the frame and sliding doors give it an opulent, Victoriana look, in line with what the owners wanted.

The home has a mainly cream white palette with wainscot panelling on the walls for a refined look. The dining area is made modern with the Louis Ghost dining chairs and brass pendant lamp.

The waincot panelling extends also to all of the kitchen cabinetry doors.

The couple wanted a walk-in wardrobe so the wall between the master bedroom and a common room was hacked away to combine the spaces.

A false ceiling over the bed helps create the soft cove lights that make the atmosphere in the master bedroom cosy and comfortable.

The designer installed double doors for the entrance of the master bathroom that were spray painted the same cream shade as the living area.

For a subtle luxe look, the walls of the bathroom were overlaid with marble-look tiles.
