The design of this five-room HDB BTO apartment at Canberra Street was kept understated and simple. With a dark coloured wood-look flooring to ground the look, the walls, cabinetry and blinds were kept white to brighten the interiors.

Designer George Wan of Control Space Design also customised a bay window seating area in the living room to offer more space in the home especially when the homeowners hold gatherings and parties.

Mirrors help to create the illusion of an enlarged entrance foyer. Barn-inspired doors help add dimension to the storage cabinetry doors here too.

The open-concept kitchen also has mostly-white finishes. An island counter doubles as a dining space too, complete with high bar stools.

George chose coloured patterned tiles and created a half-wall feature next to this space.

For the bathroom, a marble-look tile was used to elevate the look of the interiors.

The homeowners chose cove lighting in the bedroom to achieve a cosy, warm ambience.
