In contrast with the striking nest-like structure that wraps around this open-concept 3-storey landed house’s exteriors, its mostly white minimalist interiors are quietly stunning instead. Designed by the award-winning interior design team at Spacedge Designs, this home effortlessly blends clean lines, natural materials, and an abundance of natural light to create a serene and elevated living experience.
Just like most interior design projects by Spacedge Designs, most of the areas within this minimalist 3-storey landed house is scantily adorned, allowing the carefully planned spaces to speak for itself. The designers have taken a “less is more” approach, curating each element with precision to cultivate a sense of calm and balance throughout the home.
The lattice screens that envelope this terrace home’s upper storey creates an unconventional facade that also provides increased privacy. This unique architectural element adds visual interest to the exterior of the 3-storey house, catching the eye with its intricate pattern. The screens not only enhance the home’s curb appeal but also serve a functional purpose by filtering natural light and offering an extra layer of seclusion for the occupants.
Open-concept living area
Stepping inside, the ground floor of this open-concept home is maximised with an expansive open-concept design. The crisp white surfaces of the walls and staircase also helps this already light-filled area to be brightened up further, creating a sense of airiness and spaciousness. Zoning is also important in large open spaces, and the homeowners did this cleverly with textural floor rugs to delineate different living zones within the open-concept layout. The rugs not only define the various areas but also add warmth and visual interest to the minimalist palette.
Blocky living room furniture
The use of blocky furniture echoes the home’s sleek, architectural lines, and its dark grey hue juxtaposes with the all-white space to create a balanced colour scheme. This minimalist aesthetic is a hallmark of the open-concept design, allowing the focus to remain on the home’s clean lines and natural materials. The angular shapes of the furniture also complement the angular architecture of the 3-storey house, creating a harmonious visual flow throughout the interior.
Wood and steel kitchen
While the kitchen is decked out in wood and steel, the white theme is still subtley carried through with the white bar-height chairs. This helps to maintain visual cohesion throughout the open-concept home, ensuring that each room seamlessly transitions into the next. The combination of natural materials and monochromatic tones creates a sense of serenity and sophistication, making the kitchen a true centerpiece of the living space.
Pops of colour
Ascending to the upper floor, the master bedroom of this 3-storey house is cosied up thanks to the vibrant bed linen and matching pouffes. Here, the designers have introduced a pop of color and texture to offset the minimalist palette, creating a cozy and inviting retreat. The home’s exterior and interior spaces also flow seamlessly into each other with the help of full-height windows that allow the homeowners to admire the distinctive facade from inside as well.
Open-concept bathroom
The facade’s metal screen lends the open-concept bathroom utmost privacy while still allowing it to retain a sense of openness - a clever design solution for this part of the 3-storey home. By incorporating the same architectural language as the exterior, the designers have ensured that the bathroom seamlessly integrates with the overall aesthetic of the house.
All-white study room
To maximize the home’s awkward layout, the designers turned this angular corner into an elongated study area, demonstrating their ability to optimize the use of space in this open-concept 3-storey house. The resulting workspace is both functional and visually appealing, blending seamlessly with the surrounding minimalist design.
Throughout the home, the Spacedge Designs team has expertly curated a harmonious blend of form and function, creating an open-concept 3-storey living space that is both aesthetically pleasing and highly livable. The result is a true masterpiece of minimalist design, where every element has been thoughtfully considered to create a serene and elevated living experience.
